Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

This policy explains how the Doubo app (“the app”) and this website handle your information.

1. The Doubo app

Playlists, favorites and playback history are stored on your device. The Windows app has no account or cloud sync.

Windows 0.1.2 introduces optional usage statistics. The first-launch prompt defaults to No; nothing is sent until you accept.

  • Events contain a random installation identifier, app version, launches, foreground usage duration, playback starts and fixed error codes. They exclude stream URLs, channel names, playlist contents, accounts, hardware identifiers and local paths.
  • Events pass through a Cloudflare Worker to Google Analytics 4 to help us understand feature usage and improve stability. The random identifier distinguishes installations, not real identities. Enabling statistics again generates a new identifier.
  • Cloudflare receives the IP address needed for the connection; the app does not send it to Google as an event field. The installation identifier is pseudonymous, not guaranteed anonymous.
  • Disable statistics at any time using the privacy settings button at the bottom of the window. This cancels pending requests and clears the local identifier and queue; it cannot retract events already sent. Events are buffered only in memory for up to five minutes.
  • Declining statistics or being offline does not prevent playback. This setting is separate from website cookie consent. This update does not add analytics to other platforms or older Windows versions.
  • Playback and import still contact the third-party sources you select, whose operators may log connection information. DLNA discovers devices on your local network and sends the stream URL to your selected device.

2. This website

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages and uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how it is used (for example, visits, referrers, pages viewed, and clicks on download buttons) so we can improve it.

  • Information collected: Device and browser type, approximate location (city or country level), referring page, pages visited and interactions, and an anonymous identifier stored in a cookie. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
  • Cookies and consent: We use Google Consent Mode. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics cookies are set only after you click “Accept”. Elsewhere, you can click “Decline” at any time to turn analytics cookies off. Advertising storage is always off. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
  • Processor: Analytics data is processed by Google LLC. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Hosting: GitHub, as the host, may log visitors’ IP addresses for security and operational purposes. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • Retention: Google Analytics data retention is set to 14 months.

3. Children’s privacy

The app and this website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

4. Your choices

You can clear the app’s on-device data or delete the app at any time. For website analytics, you can decline or withdraw cookie consent. For questions or requests about data handling, contact us through the Support page.

5. Changes

When this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date on this page. Significant changes will be noted on the website or in the app’s release notes.
