How to Cast M3U Playlists to Chromecast and Google TV
Chromecast cannot open playlists by itself, but a computer or phone can send channels to it in a few taps.
What you need
- A Chromecast or Google TV on the same Wi-Fi network
- Google Chrome on a computer, or an Android phone
- An M3U / M3U8 playlist link
Steps
-
Open the web player in Chrome
On your computer, open doubo.tv/web in Chrome. Pick a free channel or add your own playlist link.
-
Cast the tab
Open Chrome’s menu ⋮ → Cast (in some versions under Save and share), choose your Chromecast, and play the channel full screen.
-
From an Android phone: VLC
Open the playlist in VLC for Android, start a channel, tap the cast icon and choose your Chromecast.
Try it in your browser first
Open the free web player and import a playlist link or file. CORS, HTTPS, codec, regional and provider restrictions can prevent playback; native apps also remain subject to source restrictions.

Doubo’s free channel directory lists channels that broadcasters make publicly available, as M3U links you can paste into any player.

Does casting a Chrome tab lower quality?
Tab casting re-encodes the picture, so quality depends on your computer and Wi-Fi. For the best quality, install a player on Google TV.
Can I cast from an iPhone to Chromecast?
Chromecast does not support AirPlay. Use a computer with Chrome or an Android phone instead.
